About Montessori West Christian School
Rooted in Faith. Guided by Montessori.
At Montessori West Christian School we believe every child is created by God with an innate curiosity, a love of order, and the capacity to grow in wisdom and joy. Our program is built on the timeless insights of Dr. Maria Montessori and enriched with a Christ-centered worldview, so children develop spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically—one purposeful day at a time.
Our Montessori Heritage
More than a century ago, Italian physician Dr. Maria Montessori observed that children flourish when we “follow the child.” She designed hands-on materials and a carefully prepared environment that allow students to choose meaningful activities, concentrate deeply, and master new skills at their own pace. When this approach is honored, children naturally demonstrate:
- a love of work & order
- sustained, joyful concentration
- independence and self-discipline
- genuine kindness, obedience, and initiative
We see these same hallmarks—Montessori called them the traits of a “normalized” child—emerge in our classrooms every day.

The Prepared Environment
Montessori called teachers “directresses”—guides who serve the child’s work. Our educators are trained in both Montessori methodology and early-childhood best practices. They
- observe each learner’s interests,
- introduce new materials at the right moment,
- model grace and courtesy, and
- step back so children can experience the triumph of self-discovery.
Rather than directing all activity, they link each child to the environment, fostering ownership, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.
